What I've been working on

This is what I was working on last month! :-)
I took part on SCBWI-EPA's annual Illustrators Day workshop and this year the assignment was to create a few illustrations for Little Red Riding Hood.

It's been a while since I posted here on Watercolor Wednesdays, and I just wanted to say hi!

What I've been working on by Wendy Martin

I'm still chipping away at my picture book dummy. Baby steps.

Also, I've been on the hunt for an agent and am in the waiting to hear back stage.

Plus, I'm part of a group of other kidlitters who are working together to make November official Picture Book Month. (Both School Library Journal and Publishers Weekly ran articles on Thursday this week.) Visit the web site to find out more.

Is anyone else signed up for Picture Book Idea Month in November?

What have I been working on?

What have I NOT been working on? This should be the question. I have been working like a mad woman possessed with my sketchbooks. The Sketchbook Project exploration pieces and folio work.

My blog and Facebook page is getting a good social hammering as I vent my creative enthusiasm while I rework my website. I feel exhausted just typing it.

This watercolour was created for the Illustration Friday theme "Scattered" and for my portfolio. I enjoyed it tremendously.

Art Show

I also am working hard to get all the paintings done and hoping a few people can come and see this. It is in downtown or uptown Halifax. A trendy part of town. The painting are acrylic so that is a watercolor also sort of. Just thought I would show you.

Book Launch

My first book. Mostly in watercolor.

What I have been working on.....

Flight
Which one to choose?

What I have been working on, similar
(both watercolor) but very different.

Illustration Friday works

Ive been working on a lot of big projects that i cant show anyone yet so in the meantime ive been trying to keep up with illustration Friday. Here's two pieces I really enjoy from the last two words, scattered and fuel.

What I'm Working on by Linda Snider Ward

I've been working on small, 5" x 7", watercolor paintings, a little break from working in oils. The cat, The Deep Snooze, is today's image & is one that I posted to a new site that I set up called The Painted Cat (you're welcome to join if cats are your thing). The horse, Warrior, was completed this week along with several others for a series I call The Sun Horse.

What I'm working on...IF post 'Scattered'

This is my first Watercolor Wednesdays post. I just finished a piece for this week's Illustration Friday word. I love running and just starting participating in local events this year, so I had this idea of illustrating a colorful crowd of runners 'scattered' across the streets.

Seeds in the wind

From Illustration Friday challenge scattered, which my thoughts have been...I am still trying to do at least one painting a week.

bully solution

This one’s a little late, but then lionosauruses aren’t renowned for their speed...

Sipho would never again have trouble from bullies on his way home from school, not while he was safe up on his lionosaurus!

I originally had a different version digitally coloured, you can check it out here.

New idea for greeting card

This is one of the designs for a new line of cards. I tore colored paper for the background and then put the cutouts on top. I haven't used color paper for a long time..It was great fun!
