This is my Cat Sadie. She loves to attack me as I create and then she drags her wonderful squirrel tail through the paint! Gotta love her!

Challenge - Pet as Character
This is Teddy, my daughter's poodle mix, a little guy with a big heart & a great personality. He's a character all by himself. We always laugh at his funny expression which changes from a smile to a weird but hilarious straight line. I love this little guy!

What I have been working on
Working from some old photos of my children. My daughter is a young adult now and is Cambodia at the moment (first Easter away) This painting is based on an old birthday party photo, girls and their secrets.
This is my son with his first BMX bike. Illustration Fridays bike theme fitted well with it, the first of many bikes that followed.

A challenge - Capture the character of your pet in an illustration
I love my cat and have been trying to capture her in my illustrations. So I challenge you to illustrate your pet. It should be fun and it's an easy challenge....This was one of the first ones that I did. Juliet has some siamese in her. She's all black but with a lanky body and she's the most affectionate cat I've ever owned.... Have fun with this challenge!

Bottle (Illustration friday)
So this is my most recent submission for illustration Friday. Usually I do more collage work but I miss watercolor so much that about 80% is painted. Oh and yes ferrets love soda!
Liam's Adventures!
I just finished making my newest book and I'm so excited to finally share it! Even more excited for it to get to the real Liam...
But here's a peek at one of my favorite pages....the rest of the story and illustrations are up on my blog. Hope you guys enjoy what I've been working on...

Hi Kayleen...I got your post about not being able to get on to WaWe. When I clicked on your name, Watercolor Wednesday shows up as one of your blogs, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Please resend your email address to me & I'll do another invite.
Thanks & sorry for the inconvenience!

Illustration Friday - duet
This was my illustration Friday response. It's done in watercolor with a little marker to help tighten it up. I'm finding that especially for images online, watercolor alone can be too soft - though nothing beats its translucence.

IF response to Duet
Hello everyone and thank you to Vanessa for getting back to me so promptly so I could post on WW. I am looking forward to sharing my journey in the wonderful world of children's book with you all. I finally have something to post as I have been working mainly in oil and acrylic of late.
The Illustration Friday them this week lends itself to the idea of friendship. When I think of duet I think of togetherness. As a result I illustrated two painting friends creating a painting together which will be an upcoming gift for a friend of mine on her 50th birthday. I have written more on my blog if anyone is interested. I really enjoyed breaking out the watercolours again. I also thought I better justify spending a fortune on several W&N tubes after a sale at Dickblick the other week. The paints are so much cheaper than her in Australia!
