I just got in from work and I had to come and see what everyone was up to. I did get a chance to
comment on the wonderful illustrations earlier this evening. Even though it's ten at night and I need to sleep, I wanted to
do one last illustration before slipping of to dreamland.
It's lovely, Vanessa, so very moving. I like Thumbalina's expression, such sadness... Great lines and limited colors, very nice effect.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely--I think I had that same expression when I used to drag every stray animal home for my dad to help me fix up. Determination. Hope :)

Such lovely simple lines that tell it all. :)
ReplyDeleteVanessa, this is a really wonderful illustration! I love your linework! Thumbelina is so expressive, not only in her face, but her body as well. :)

oh Vanessa, i agree with others: it's marvellous! Thumbelina's movement is absolutely childlike and full of innocence! the bird is very nice too.
ReplyDeleteSweet and thoughtful expression - the image tugs at your heart, nice job!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. Nice focus on them both.
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity of this piece makes it most exciting to me. The color palette, linework and composition all gel nicely together. A strong, dynamic illustration!
