Thumbelina and her bird

Thumbelina was one of my favorite stories as a kid. I used to love imagining what it would be like to be that small.

  1. nice work! there's more dark and sadness under the ground than above. this composition represents Thumbelina's real status at that time in the tail.

  4. Very nice, lovely work on the shadows, underneath the ground... a whole different, somber mood...

  8. Great composition. I love how it is so dark and desolate where she is with the bird and how she appears as if in shadow. Really interesting illustration.

  9. I agree with everyone, too. The composition with dark against light evokes a real sadness — but joyfulness at the same time — in the piece. Well done!
