This a 5 x 7 watercolor, titled 'Follow me'. We don't have many sandy beaches in Maine....but we have a lot of rocky ones! These kids are my two boys. I love all the submissions so far! So much imagination!!! Debbie
Debbie, this is so beautiful. I love the feeling and the colors. It's a moment caught. The blues are so soft without being girly. This is stellar. Great piece.
Thank you Vanessa and mitchowl! I love painting rocks. So many different shapes & colors that lead to an abstract design. My problem with painting them is that I render all of them equally sharp and in the spot light! Not really good for a painting, so I worked on only sharpening the ones around the boys and trying to mute the others. It took a lot of self discipline to hold back on them! Debbie
This is such a lovely painting Debbie. You have such a way of capturing a mood! It's soft and quiet, and I can almost feel the gentle ocean breeze! Nicely done!

ReplyDeleteOnce again you've hit a home run. I keep thinking I want to do something with river rocks. Yours are awesome and your characters so believable.
