Fractured Fairy Tales by Penny Noble

The big bad wolf was sad and lonely after chasing "Little Red Riding Hood" away. So he answered this add on a singles page: Lively red head seeks companion that loves picnics on on the beach! Little did he know it was from "The Little Mermaid" and to make matters worst he suffers with an allergy to sea food! Better luck next time Wolfy!

some sort of fairy tale...

I haven't posted here in a while! Here is a portfolio piece I did recently, which I'm sure could somehow qualify for a fractured fairy tale?

I've really had it in for the poor bunnies lately - you can see another post with a poor little wabbit on my blog.

Hope everyone is well and happily creative!

Cheers

American Colors-Angelia McLean

Angelia McLean "American Colors"
Hellooo Everyone! I'm catching up with July's Watercolor Wednesday's challenges having just joined. I am posting the July 6 theme of American Colors. What's another favorite activity in the summer but fairs, circuses and festivals. These 3 acrobats represent our USA in many ways as they perform over the timid elephant who's not quite sure that she won't get red, white and blue on her! Thank you for the opportunity to join such a great group of artists! I'll post the rest of the month as they're finished.

A huge congrats to Vanessa!

Keepin' it Cool by Penny Noble

This bear is keepin' it cool and has brought along his rubber duckies for company!

Watercolor, Pen & ink

My parents recently celebrated their anniversary, and this was my gift to them. They were married next to a river, so I pulled out the old wedding photo albums for inspirations on clothing, setting, and poses. (I love the Gunne Sax dresses!)

Baby's first...Snail by Alison Kolesar

This was inspired by the memory of some pictures I had seen of a baby who was having a wonderful time exploring the natural world without his parents worrying unnecessarily about dirt. I don't think there was actually a snail involved but what better when you are taking your time to really look at the world as little people do.

Tiffanny Varga - Baby's First... Guardian Angel!

Hi Everyone! This is my first piece for Watercolor Wednesdays! I always try to make an excuse to pair kids up with animals in my pieces. I think they make people go "awwww!", and I like getting that sort of reaction. Hence, baby's guardian angel is a puppy modeled after my dog Gracie!!
Here is a closer up detail. Doggie has on her tag little wings designating her very important job, and also I made sure to position the swirl of the baby's hair to act as a halo for the doggie. :)

Hope you like it!

Lynda Farrington Wilson ~ Keeping it Cool ~

I did this illustration for the IF Challenge "Soaked", and couldn't resist on posting it for Keeping it Cool
I am just in love with bubbles, and slip them in anywhere I can!

Watercolour Inviation

I havn't been able to post for quite some time as I have been working mainly in oil, digital and loads of sketching. I have this quickie I made for the kids this week in watercolour for a sleepover they are having at the end of the week. It is nice to do little originals for their happenings. I did paint it in my sketchbook so the paper quality is pretty adverage compared to using watercolour paper but it did the job. I added the text and a little of the paint in Painter but not much.

Sorry for the delay in posting challenges. This is what I've been working on--two oil painting works-in-progress, Related in Spirit and Gypsy Vanner. Also, I have two commissions, dog portraits. Everyone's work looks great!

Benjamin discovered a bossy girl and a big dog in his backyard!

I had this painting for illustration friday but thought it could work for this theme. I could imagine a little boy looking out into the garden with outrage at "some girl" bossing around his dog!
