magic wand

This is a quick one--I found an ink drawing that I had done a month or so ago but hadn't finished, so I added a wand, splashed some watercolor on it, and while working on it, I realized why I hadn't finished it--it's not on watercolor paper & the paper buckled (check out the simulated rain storm at the top of the paper). The washes sat in puddles or stained the paper but wouldn't move. I think I'll put it away again & later redo it on good watercolor paper. There's just no replacing good watercolor paper!

Can we say Perfection? This is pure perfection! I love the color and the wand. You have everything in here that all of us girls want! You make me so proud to be girl. YOU GO LINDA!!!! Use one of my magic wands on that printer.

I didn't even notice the buckled paper until you mentioned it! I'm always trying to use "alternative" paper and often frustrated by it. But I never seem to learn. This is beautiful. (But you can probably tell by my avatar that I love flying horses...)

This is beautiful! Like all your pictures, it makes me want to get a big, old blanket and curl up with a book of fairytales, illustrated like this:) I LOVE the horse - and I love how the girl is just sitting, reading - with such a wonderful big pom-pom like magic wand. This is really lovely!

Thank you so much Krisztina, Vanessa, Heather, and Linda Sarah for your comments--I needed that! I've been down all day & getting frustrated while working on some illustrations that are due tomorrow--I think I'm just tired from the first week at my new job. We all need encouragement--thanks for a great boost!

i know what you mean about paper and how disappointing it can be when it is problematic. I actually think that the illustration has some interesting "textures" in it and the horse is delightful.
nice composition and if you do recreate it, I would love to see the next version. thanks for sharing. =)

Yes, good paper makes a BIG difference, but you still managed to come up with a delightful illustration. I just love that horse!!!
