Hopping Bunnies

My son (almost 5) has his first, well, second admirer. Girls just like him . . . probably because his favorite color is pink. He enjoys playing with them and has NO idea how much they really like him. That sparked this illo . . . and there are parts of it I like and others that I don't. I think most of my frustration is that the colors don't work as well as I'd like. What other suggestions do you have? I want to know what you think is working and what isn't.

I love this. Such a playful and happy image.

Can I ask if you are mixing your own browns and greens or using colors straight from the tube?

It will be hard to comment on colors since every screen will show them slightly different.

A boy with taste!!! I love it! My husband was just in his best friend's wedding and had to wear pink and if I must say so myself, he ROCKED IT! he he he!!!! I adore bunnies and these two darlings need a story to go with them. They are just adorable and cute. Very, Very, Very, well done my friend! They put me in the mind of spring and happiness!

I also think it's adorable, I particularly like the background and the bunnies' expression :-)

My only comment would be to add variety in terms of brightness and contrast to the green used on the foreground. Greens are tough, aren't they? They're not easy to mix, to get that natural look. I tend to mix mine, rather than using straight from the tube, but the results are not always what I'd like or expect. That's watercolor for you!

I think it works really well, and I love the colors. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe continuing the grass behind the bunny on the left, or switching the colors of the bunnies, so that the road isn't right next to the brown bunny.
